Will Nikon D5 be your next camera?

Comparisons:

The Nikon D5 has many worthy competitors in the full-format sensor camera market with Canon EOS 1D X easily being the most prominent rival and the current market leader. Nikon D5 matches the Canon camera's 12 fps with AF and 14 fps-with-mirror-up continuous shooting rate. However, Nikon D5 stands out because of its UHD video support (only Full HD in Canon 1 DX), exceptional low light performance (ISO 102,400 compared to ISO 51,200 of Canon 1 DX) as well as low light autofocus performance thanks to its 153 AF points with 99 cross-type points compared to 61 total AF points of the Canon camera.

Nikon D5 DSLR camera also offers 20.8 MP stills resolution compared to 18 MP of the Canon offering as well as a larger buffer and higher bandwidth rates.

Recommendations:

Nikon D5 camera's brilliant video and still shooting performance and an exhaustive features-list make it a worthy competitor to the Canon 1 DX. Canon 1 DX, however, is slightly smaller in size, about 100 grams lighter and also lower in price than Nikon D5 DSLR camera.

Overall, the Nikon D5 camera is a huge leap over its predecessor Nikon D4s and its class-leading features such as UHD video support, enhanced AF and low-light performance make it an excellent choice for professional photographers.
